Oliver Ford Davies is an actor perhaps most widely known for Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Johnny English, as well as dozens of television leads. Since 1975 he has appeared in 35 productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company, including Polonius in Hamlet with David Tennant and Patrick Stewart and most recently Pandarus in Troilus and Cressida, shown live here at the Marine in November. His many roles with the National Theatre include Racing Demon for which he won the 1990 Olivier Best Actor Award.
Andy was born and bred in Lyme Regis. He trained as an actor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre school and has worked as an actor and writer in theatre, television, film and radio for over thirty years. His fifth community play for the Marine Theatre: ‘A Midsummer Lyme’s Dream’, is currently in rehearsal for June 2024.
Susan Kyd has been a working actor for 45 years in theatre, film, radio and television. Everything from Allo Allo to My Fair Lady to touring with Frantic Assembly or West End runs. I have the happiest memories of laughing while pulling the set up the cliff in the rain to perform here. I hope our Sonnets help raise funds so everyone in Lyme can continue to enjoy this beautiful Marine theatre.
David studied acting at Arts Educational Schools London. He moved to East Devon a year ago with his wife Clare and dog ‘Shadow’. He was very proud to have made his debut at the Marine Theatre in October 2023 playing ‘Ricky Roma’ in Glengarry Glen Ross.
