Are you interested in Neurodiversity and Inclusive Art, as well as Film, Theatre, Folklore and World Mythology?! Then YOU'RE IN LUCK!! We have the perfect show for you… ‘Magical Screentest’ is a disarmingly honest self-portrait of aspiring actor Isobel Jeffery: the heroic, inspiring tale of how she has worked to overcome learning disabilities and health problems, and fought to transcend other people’s ideas of what she might be capable of. The show describes the true story of how she struggled in her teenage years with misdiagnosed epilepsy, the consequences of this on her health and lifestyle, and how she is fighting now to realise her dream of being an actor.
That all makes it sound a bit heavy, which it certainly isn’t! The show takes the form of a conversation between Isobel and cartoonish film producer Mr Hollywood Big Bucks, played by Phil Kingslan John from Four of Swords. Their interview is punctuated with demonstrations of the tactics Isobel has developed to learn scripts, a mind-bending quiz on world mythology and some short films of skits and sketches, all created from the wonderfully wacky imagination of Isobel Jeffery.
