Don’t let the sound of waves drown out your vows
There’s nothing quite as magical as the waves crashing against the shore while taking a romantic walk down the aisle. When you’re trying to exchange vows, this is a completely different story. To work around this make sure you have professional sound. At Dorset’s Marine Theatre, venue hire includes a PA system with a professional technician to ensure you have everything you need and are heard loud and clear by all your guests!
Bring your swimmers!
On a lovely hot day the sea in the South West can be quite tempting. You may want to encourage your guests to bring some swimmers (or go in your undies) for a post ceremony dip! Although the sea in the South West can be quite chilly and you may wisely choose to abstain.
Make your décor windproof
You’ll need to tweak your décor to suit the outdoors, especially in windy locations such as the South West. This means you may want to think twice about super lavish flowers, towering candles, and even windy ribbons and balloons, which may just end up getting blown away by the wind. Do not fret this fabulous decor can be used inside the Marine Theatre, we encourage couples to dress this unique building in whatever way they wish. We do boast an indoor/outdoor feel as the sea views can be seen inside the theatre with plenty of windows and a balcony that looks out over Lyme Regis. Outside use sturdy décor and avoid breakable items. Anything you can’t live without (like name tags, photos, etc.), secure with adhesive, spring, or place something heavier over top to hold them down. In terms of flowers, you also want to make sure you choose varieties that stand up well against high temperatures, and won’t wilt before the ceremony even begins.
Prepare a flip-flop station
No one wants to spend the day with sand in their shoes. With a shoe rack, guests can trade their fancy shoes for flip-flops. Make provisions at the station for guests to be able to wipe or wash the sand off their feet before making the swap. You’ll want to include a seating area, towels, a place to store shoes, and a bucket of water. This also allows guests to ditch the heels when the dancefloor gets going – The Marine Theatre has arguably one of the best wedding dance floors in the South West. With a large stage, state of the art sound system and an in-house technician you will be on your feet all night long. Learn more about the Marines space here.
